HUCH - Made in Neuruppin
HUCH GmbH Behälterbau comes from the Brandenburg town of Neuruppin (Germany). Even as an internationally active company, we maintain our roots in Neuruppin and engage ourselves with Fontane's town of birth and its surroundings.
Neuruppin is the most important town in the north west of Brandenburg and an economically attractive site. Situated directly at the Ruppiner See (Ruppin lake) which at 14 km in length is Brandenburg's longest lake, the town represents the gateway to the region of Neuruppiner Schweiz (Ruppin Switzerland). The town of Neuruppin, rich in tradition, is the region's cultural and touristic centre.
The birthplace of both the writer Theodor Fontane and the great architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel has a unique historic town centre. After the former garrison town burnt down in 1787, it was completely rebuilt in the early classical style. Neuruppin survived World War II without major destruction. In the 19th century, the town was one of Europe's most significant media centres. The Neuruppiner Bilderbogen (picture sheets from Neuruppin) informed people all over Germany on what was going on in Europe and the world; nowadays these picture sheets are regarded as the forerunner of the illustrated newspaper.
